Reimagining The Daily Routine
Keros (“weather” in Greek) is a sleek, interactive, wall-hanging coat rack that I designed to light up according to the day's forecasted weather. Keros helps make the choice for what jacket to wear that day a no-brainer.
The pegs are placed in order of temperature ranges, with temperatures rising as you go from left to right; each peg can be lit up by an LED. Using a motion sensor, LEDs, and weather data, a reliable algorithm activates the LED behind the peg that represents the day's expected range of temperatures.
Keros can display the user’s warmest coats on pegs closer to the left, and lighter jackets to a raincoat on the right ones; when the user walks by, Keros illuminates the best choice of outerwear for that day’s weather while also being a modern, space-saving, appealing design and conversation piece in the home.
